Garden Paradiso Venice

Garden Paradiso Cavalino Venice Italy.
This is one of my favourite campsites for Familys.
The setting is directly on to the warm Adriatic Sea a lovely soft sandy beach with lots of shells and a small path onto grassed grounds of the campsite.
The campsite has a central paved shopping area with a camp shop, supermarket with bread and deli counter a games room bar and restaurant, it also has an excellent fruit and veg shop, during the busy weeks there are stalls selling trinkets and jewellery and even glass animals made as you watch. As the evening comes the children’s disco starts with the reps getting everybody singing (crocadillo crocadillo) then this area shows movies for the rest of the evening.the peak season has a weekly show which is first class ,we watched The lion king and the costumes were fantastic copied directly from the New York Broadway production.
There are shows every night with a lot of comedy Mr and Mrs ECT although most are spoken in Italian and German. The restaurant just over the road is top class with speedy service and a special treat for the kids booking advisable in the busy times. with all sites there are downfalls and in Italy generally the pitches are very modest in size compared with France and the nearness to the lagoons surrounding Venice means that there are a abundance of mosquitoes however these are mainly at dawn and dust and with proper protection and liberal amounts of lotion you can be bite free. The trip into Venice is about 20mins on a service bus to the ferry port then a 20minute sail to the island its self .Venice is a subject on its own but which I wont cover here suffice to say .we found it very enjoyable and stopped late one Friday night to watch the opera crowd donning there finery and gowns on there way around St Marks square. During the afternoon a loud horn is sounded as the pirate ship comes to the beach and for ten Euros you are whisked aboard and taken to fight another ship and sail around the coast a great adventure for the kids and their dads .there is a gym crazy golf bouncy, castle, and during the day the entertainment for the children range from kayaking karate, soccer, tennis and keep fit.
